There will come a time in one’s life when they must decide which road to take. The first road: Seemingly innocent; a straight path. It leads to the future, just as most roads will. The journey is mechanical. Wake up. Proceed with your usual routine. You say hello to the same people, you walk the same way; you do what you always do. You do what is expected.
But then you remember that other path: the narrow, winding path. Trees canopy overhead. It appears mysterious, new, inviting. This path takes you on an adventure. You wake up and do something different. You choose to say hello to that neighbor you silently walk past every morning, you take a stroll through the park; you do something new. You live.
And who really knows? Perhaps one day this path will take you past your wildest hopes and dreams. Your journey will end; you’ll be led into the future. So why not take that first path? It was familiar. It was comfortable…
Sometimes it isn’t where we are headed. It is how we get there, what path we choose to travel. So live a little, and soak it all in. Enjoy the little things and take a chance.
